The buzz of the film started since the first poster and from then the craze for the film was unstoppable. This amazing emotional drama hit the screens today, and before you watch the film, see what critics have to say about it!
Check out the highlights of the movie, through the views of the critics right here:
Times of India: When it comes to performances–Salman laughs and cries unselfconsciously, unraveling the lesser-seen side of his macho image. He cannot move mountains with his performance but he manages to keep the faith alive. Sohail is sincere. Zhu Zhu shows spunk and young Matin entertains. And, Om Puri reminds you of the mettle unsung heroes are made of. Pritam's Naach Meri Jaan and Sajan Radio are magical, as is Shah Rukh Khan's cameo as magician, Go-Go Pasha. Aseem Mishra's camera work is largely-breathtaking.
Hindustan Times: Tubelight quickly moves on to Indo-China war. The film starts voicing its concerns from the very beginning and plays to its strength – that is, Salman Khan's popular image as a headstrong yet benevolent celeb..Salman's man-child act is slightly over the top, but his fans will like it. Chinese actor Zhu Zhu and child actor Matin are his companions, who make his journey worth going for.
Firstpost: It's all about Laxman. Even for someone who doesn't watch Bollywood, it is easy to notice that this is a kind of character that Salman has never played before. He is not playing a macho, heroic role (what he is known for). In Tubelight, he plays a very vulnerable role and it is refreshing. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. You expect such an emotional film to have a bittersweet ending, one that hammers home the point. But Tubelight does succumb to a cliched ending, pandering to the good old feel good factor.
The Hindu: Khan has a solid cast of actors. The child, Matin Tey Tangu, is eminently cute. But Zhu Zhu can't rise above being flawless; the tears flowing down her eyes in picture perfect streams.
IBTimes: Some funny moments keep the movie-goers engaged in the first half of the movie. The second half is very high on emotional quotient and it is sure to make the viewers cry. The climax is stunning and is a wonderful tribute to late Bollywood actor Om Puri.
Well, this was all about Salman Khan starrer Tubelight. The film which is high on emotional content, is sure worth a watch. Are you going to watch the film after these reviews? Post your thoughts in the comment section below.
