NewDelhi: Around 40 migrants killed and over dozens were wounded in the air raid at the Libya migrant camp.
After the Boat sinks off Libya, 97 migrants were reported missing in Tripoli. The missing includes 15 women and 5 children, a survivor said.
Under 10 kilometres (6miles) around 23 migrants of various African nationalities has been rescued by the Libyan coast guard.
Out of the survivors, all men, were found clinging to a floating device due to the boat's hull that was completely destroyed, General Ayoub Kacem said.
He too added that those who had disappeared were claimed 'probably dead' and the recovery of their bodies were so far prevented from the bad weather conditions.
Since six years, Libya has become one of the major key departure points for migrants who risks their lives crossing the Mediterranean to Europe.
Approximately 590 migrants have been died or reported missing along the Libyan coast since the beginning of this year, IOM added in late March.
According to the reports of the UN High Commissioner for refugees, more than 24,000 migrants have arrived in Italy from Libya during the first three months of the year, up from 18,000 in the same period last year.
Due to the sudden worse conditions of Libya, The External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted about the evacuation of peacekeeping team of 15 CRPF soldiers on Saturday by the Indian embassy in neighbouring Tunisia.
She also tweeted the phone numbers of the two officials for Indians in Tripoli incase of any help needed.
