According to the sources, the bus fell from a height of 30 feet into jharna nullah due to the driver's fault as he was sleepy and lost the control at high speed.

Awadh bus depot's Janrath Expressway Roadways bus no UP33 AT5877 lost control on Yamuna Expressway and fell in 'jharna nala' near Kuberpur," UP Police said in a tweet.














After 2 hours the cranes arrived at the place and bus was taken out. 29 were found dead and the bodies were taken out , injured ones were taken to the hospital.A total of 29 people, including a child and a woman, died in the accident and efforts are on to identify the bodies.

"The incident took place around 4:30 am. The driver probably dozed off and the speeding bus broke our barrier and fell into the drain. Search operations are underway," Agra District Magistrate NG Ravi Kumar told media.

The Uttar Pradesh Roadways has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has rush to the spot to monitor the rescue operation.
