Delhi chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal wrote to the India's Health Minister Harsh Vardhan that Delhi's Health Scheme is 10 times bigger than Ayushman Bharat.
Mr. Kejriwal wrote a two pages letter about the functioning of Delhi Health Scheme, where he mentioned that "I am happy to tell you that Ayushman Bharat has already been implemented in Delhi a long time ago. The government's health scheme is 10 times bigger and comprehensive than Ayushman Bharat. In spite of implementation of Ayushman Bharat in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, lakh of patients from these states come to Delhi for treatment while the opposite is not truth indicating that Delhi's Health Scheme is working well. Those whose income is more than 10,000 does not come under the Ayushman Bharat, which means those who are earning below minimum wages is out of the scheme."
In the comparison of both the schemes he said, "Under the Ayushman Bharat there were less than 10% beneficiaries in Delhi while in Delhi's Scheme, every citizen constituting the Capital's population of two crore could be a beneficiary. Also, under Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries could get treatment of up to 5lakh but under AAP dispensation's scheme, there was no such limit and hence, the government bears all expenses, even if these amounted up to 30lakh. The objective of both the Centre and Delhi Government is same- the provision of inexpensive and quality treatment to the citizens of the country, no matter under which scheme, there is good scheme, which is currently functional in Delhi if our model need improvement please let us know."
