New Delhi : Delhiites on Friday morning faced troubles in commuting as Delhi Metro services on the violet line witnessed delays due to signalling problem. The violet line of the Delhi Metro connects Kashmere Gate to Escorts Mujesar. According to the information given by commuters on micro blogging website Twitter, the line is witnessing a delay of about half-an-hour.
A commuter Aman Panda posted on Twitter that the Violet line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has come to a standstill. He further informed that the waiting time on the line is close to 23 minutes on Escorts Mujesar side. Meanwhile, another commute, Jayant Kumar also tweeted about the snag while declaring that the operations are delayed by 30 minutes.
Earlier on February 15, metro services in Delhi were badly hit as movements of seven trains were affected with four round trip cancellations, two delays and one partial cancellation on the Violet Line due to erratic power supply.
On June 18, Delhi Metro services were affected after a catenary wire snapped on the Blue Line which is the longest route in Delhi Metro and connects Dwarka and Noida. The snapping of wire took place near Noida Sector-15 station. Recently, the train services on Blue Line were severely affected as a portion of overhead wiring of the network sagged after being hit by an eagle, which also triggered a short circuit. (india.com)
