Anantnag : Two terrorists, including Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Bashir Ah Wani alias Lashkari, were neutralised in an encounter with security forces in Dailgam village in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The encounter broke out on Saturday early morning when the security forces laid a cordon in the village on the information about two terrorists being holed up in the region.
Reportedly, Bashir Ah Wahi carries a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head and is said to be the mastermind of the June 16 terrorist attack on a police party in the outskirts of Anantnag district of South Kashmir. As per reports, two civilians, including a woman, have been killed in the cross-fire between the terrorists and the security forces and according to the latest information, 17 civilians have also been rescued.
Similar operations were launched in the villages of Baghpora, Magraypora and Marhama in Anantnag on June 22 after the security forces received information of some terrorists hiding in the region. A cordon was laid by the joint team of Army's first Rashtriya Rifles and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
On June 21, the Army had gunned down three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in an encounter that lasted for over six hours in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
