TERROR OF RAIN IN MUMBAI

Due to heavy rain in Mumbai, walls have being collapsed at 2 places in Mumbai, Malad and Kalyan. In Malad, on 2nd July, in midnight at least 12 persons died whereas four persons are seriously injured after the wall collapsed near a school in Pimpripada area near Malad East.

A compound wall collapsed due to heavy downpour. Many people are feared and trapped under the debris. Fire Brigade, Police and NDRF rush to the spot to save the lives of the people trapped under the debris. Around 13 people are admitted in the Trauma Centre at Jogeshwari and Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali. Some of the victims were saved by the people near the spot before the arrival of NDRF and Police.

Whereas, in Kalyan 3 people including 3 years old boy died while one got injured after the collapse of compound wall of the National Urdu School in midnight due to heavy rainfall. The wall collapsed on the 2 chawls adjoining the school.

"At 12:30 AM, a back side wall of National Urdu English School collapsed on adjoining 'tabela' in which 3 people died and one sustained injuries. They have been brought to the Rukmani Hospital," said Anil Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kalyan.

Due to the heavy rainfall in Mumbai around 20 people died after the wall collapse last night. According to the weather department, the city is predicted with heavy rain throughout the week.
