Odisha's Rice Mill Wall Collapse
Odisha9 Jun 2019 8:02 AM GMTby Special Coverage NewsOn sunday in Odisha, an abandoned rice mill collapsed near a weekly vegetable market killed four and left ten injured.
Abhinab Dalua said, "it was a sudden accident when a boundary wall suddenly collapsed while the people near-by were doing their normal trading activities. The four who died on the spot are all vendors."
Vehicles which were parked near by the wall were all crushed under the wall. To rescue the injured Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRF) was called along with fire brigade personnel and police officers.
Assistant fire officer, Ramakant Nayak said that "seven people who succor the serious injury are rushed the district hospital while three others are shifted to another facility in Cuttack. Also, the left wall is knock down with JCB machine."
According to some reports people near the rice mill says that the rice in under little or no maintenance from several years.It is also reported that around 11 have escped from site with minor injuries.
