Alwar Police has released the charged sheet in the Pehlu Khan's smuggling case. Two years ago, on 1st April 2017, Pehlu Khan was allegedly beaten by a mob of "gau-rakshaks" with his two sons , near Behror in Rajasthan on Delhi – Alwar highway for transporting cows illegally.
Under sections 5, 8 and 9, Alwar police charge sheeted Khan's sons Irsad(25) and Atif(22) while Khan is being charged under section 6 of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal Act 1995( Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export). The charge sheet on khan was prepared last year on December 30, and after 13 days Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot came into power in Rajasthan.
In 2018, the previous state government of BJP also filed a similar charge sheet against the two sons of khan and were also beaten by mob. Whereas Pehlu Khan was beaten to death by the mob.
There were 2 FIR registered under this case, one was on the Khan family for smuggling cattle (cows) out of the state and another on the mob for beating khan to death. Alwar Police has earlier given green chit to the six persons accused of lynching khan. The police took their decision on the basis of the statements of the staff of a cow shelter and the mobile records.
