Lucknow : During Akhilesh Yadav's tenure as Chief minister, 86% of the total grant given by Uttar Pradesh Go Sewa Ayog to Goshala and cow protection organizations was granted to Aparna Yadav's Jeev Ashraya NGO, which runs the Kanha Upwan Goshal near Amausi, owned by Lucknow Nagar Nigam.
This fact has emerged from the information given by Ayog's PIO Dr Sanjay Yadav to RTI activist Dr Nutan Thakur.
As per the information, between 05 years from 2012 to 2017, the Ayog gave a total grant of 9.66 crore rupees, of which 8.35 crores were given only to Jeev Ashraya, which is 86.4 percent of total grant. During financial years 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15, Jeev Ashraya was the only NGO to be given this grant to the tune of Rs. 50 lakh,1.25 crore and 1.41 crore respectively.
In financial year 2015-16 Jeev Ashray got Rs. 2.58 crores while Sripad Baba Goshala, Vrindavan got Rs. 41 lakh and in 2016-17, of the total grant of 3.45 crores, Jeev Ashraya got Rs. 2.55 crores while among other 04 NGOs, Sripad Goshala got Rs. 63 lakh.
During 2017-18, 1.05 crore grant has been given to various Goshala till date but this does not include Jeev Ashraya. Dayodaya Goshala, Lalitpur got the highest amount of Rs. 63 lakh.
As per Nutan, grant of almost complete money to one NGO in the State is a clear indicator of huge political nepotism.
