4 Officials Suspended, 29 Suspects Arrested in Sonbhadra Firing
New Delhi: On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 29 people arrested and 4 Officials has been suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government in link with the Sonbhadra firing incident which led to 9 deaths.
Weapons like a single barrel gun, three double-barrel guna and a rifle have been seized and 29 people have been arrested till now. Strict actions will be taken against those who, if, found responsible for the incident, he added at a press conference.
In 1955, the foundation of the incident was laid then tehsildar did the unlawful act of registering the land of gram samaj in the name of Adarsh Cooperative Society. The suspensions of the four officials has been ordered by the UP government and he also said that to investigate the matter of 1955 till now, a three-member committee has been constituted and will give a report to the government in 10 days.
On Wednesday, the incident took place in Ubbha village of Ghorawal where the land was purchased two years ago and the village head went to take possession of it.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived earlier Sonbhadra in the day, got detained by the police after she sat on a dharna against the state government for her non allowance to meet the kin of those who were killed in the incident.
In case of citing the violation of section 144, which is imposed in the area, police detained her.
